I took this rather marvellous online quiz at www.RealAge.com and it let me know that rather than 51.5 years old which I actually am, it considers that I am only 48.4, a whole 3.1 years younger! Whoopee!
To what does it attibute my youthful edge, when in fact I push my luck with my weight?
Well, its all in the...
...good sleep levels, good oral hygiene, the fact that I dont smoke and am not a secondary smoker, my parents did not divorce, I don't take medication, or eat much red meat, can't stand my cellphone, eat breakfast every day, have a diverse diet, there's no ovarian cancer in my family or breast cancer for that matter, I wear my seatbelt when driving and have an airbag, and I eat lots of fruit and Omega-3s. Phew!
It's good to know I am doing some things right, especially when they then go on to tell me what I am doing wrong and how I can reduce my age still further - oh, and look out, this is a long list - by:
flossing, eating less fat, working out at the gym including flexibility exercises and strength training, eating (even) more vegetables and grains, reducing my body mass index, my driving speeds and my vehicle size, controlling my blood pressure (have no idea what that is, never measure it) and measuring my cholesterol levels, taking folic acid, potassium, calcium, vitamins C & E and finally reducing stress and increasing my social network. Christ, I don't think I could cope with that last one!
You will notice that this second list is a bit longer than the first one, so plenty to do, but lots of it do-able and the website gives you some sensible tips on how to do this.
Enjoy.
